The Skeletones Four
The Toronto band The Skeletones Four have released their first album “Gravestone Rock” August 23, 2011. Might I add hardly holding myself back, “Hooolyy can they play a live show! I found myself in some type of music hypnosis asking other smiling beer holding audience members, “this is sooo dope, right?!” “Totally, rad!” and carried out our enthusiastic conversations over their music in similar cult-80′s-High-School-movie fashion about how blown away we were by their performance. Apparently this is something that happens quite often when going to a live Skeletones Four show. More people I spoke to, the more I discovered fans from previous shows in the audience sharing their first times at a Skeletones Four show, and other bloggers, and music reviewists trying to ‘get them.’
All I can say is they are incredible at playing their instruments. Incredible at working together as a band, and incredible at fooling me into disbelieving they do not sound like Sloan. So what is their sound? How about some type of body of a band in the shape of progressive blues rock, with their hair blowing in an eerie indie air breeze, surfing on a psychedelic ballad of a wave? Far out, man. Right? I say awesome. Dig it.
